BAAAHHH!!!!

So I've joined in. I don't consider myself a bandwagon jumper, a sheep, a follower (aside from the blog reading sense and themed posts). But alas. I've jumped on. a tad later then the rest of the sheep. I think my wagon had a broken wheel and was a littler slower then the rest of the bandwagons. But it pulled up in front of my house yesterday and I with one good leap I was on.

What could I be talking about? Ahhh. It is with almost great regret to admit. I'm reading TWILIGHT. Yes dear friends I have succumb to the excitement that is Twilight. I usually don't read books that get this much hype. Maybe some of you remember I read The Road, and HATED it. with uppercase EVERYTHING. when i read a book that comes highly recommended by my peers, strangers, Oprah, that I don't like it leaves me wondering what's wrong with me. Why didn't I like it. So i decided LONG ago I would NOT be reading Twilight. I had no interest at all. I'm not into all the hoopla that was surrounding it. If I missed out....well then I missed out , I thought.

But yesterday before Preggers shower (which was GREAT), I gave in. Jules boyfriend Number 1 Steeler Fan was leaving for his big day out of the house (since he wasn't thrilled about the shower) and i was making small talk. He told me he planned to grab some lunch finish his book and hit a movie. The book. The 3rd one in the Twilight series. I asked if he was enjoying the books, which he was, who reads 3 jumbo sized books if they aren't enjoying it....duh McMean and I told him my theory about not liking books that are considered so "great". He told me I should give it a go and that I could "always put it down if i didn't like it". Huh. Go figure. I seldom "put a book down" even if i hate it I feel obligated to see it through. He gave em the book and I stuck it in my bag. When i got home I figured oh why not.

OH WHY NOT? Because these people are right. I'm freaking hooked. 100+ pages into it and I'm sitting at work thinking about my next fix. Dear God. I had to literally say "Enough Amy get ready for work" today. I woke up starting reading it took a shower, read some more. i was going to bring it to work "just in case I had a minute or two". WTF. Now I want to finish it to see what happens. thank goodness Number 1 Steeler Fan said I can borrow all his books if i liked them.

My wagon's still broken down, about 20 miles away, I think. I just can't bring myself to do it. And after watching the movie? Ugh. Even less enthusiasm than before. It sucked. Maybe after I've finished the 100 books piled near my bed... and I'll just live vicariously through you for now.

You know what they say "The dark side has cookies"! Welcome to the club. I was just like you. I refused to like it and then it became an addiction that I could not geta fix for quick enough. I hated admitting to my teenage daughters I liked it. I refused to but they were so right. I drowned my self in thm to the point I did not sleep for two days straight and I am a very fast reader. I had to finish and now that I have- I want more. So here we are. I'll bring the oreos and you bring the milk. It's a long ride but so worth it.
AND....I am so proud of you and the shower. Yay!
