Cross your fingers

So according to Steelers Gab , yes you read that right, Troy was listed as “Full Participation in Practice” yesterday! And hopefully as long as he's back today without any problems he'll be on the field Sunday against the Clowns....I meant the Browns. No really I did mean the CLOWNS. Hopefully they'll start playing more like the team I love with him back on the field. I have to say every week since the opener you could definitely tell Troy was missing. I've been wearing my jersey proud and toting my purse just waiting to see him take the field again.

I'm crossing my fingers, toes, eyes and all my T's.

Back to the grind

Well my mini vacation is over. As of 3 p.m. today I'm back to work. yippee. Can you hear the excitement in my bloggy type? I dropped Soccermom at BWI today at 9:08 a.m. roughly 6 minutes before the time she wanted to be there. I'm awesome. I reached my house at 10:25 p.m. the exact time her flight took off for the greater Buffalo area. Then i took a nap. I was exhausted. It wasn't a busy hectic week/weekend. It was nice and relaxing, but having a house mate for 4 days is just plain tiring. We had fun. I picked her up Wednesday at 12 noon from BWI and we trekked back to York (about a hour and 15 min. drive) After unloading we ventured to my parents house for Ice cream Cake. I LOVE ice cream cake. My family. DOES NOT. They complained. and complained. and complained. You would think I was feeding them a cake made of beetles and mud. It's ICE CREAM cake people. geez.

My birthday was a BLAST! I know. A Blast! It's never a blast. But this year it was. We had a really good time. Big brother his GF, preggers, my parents, Jules and Steeler Fan, all accompanied me to the BAr Tuesday evening where we chowed down on food tossed back a few beers (much less then i normally would have seeing as I had to get up and be in Baltimore by noon) and played some pool. Good times. jules bought me a .,......wait for it............

That's right my friends. I got my jersey!!! Here's the funny thing. Soccermom also got me a jersey. She got me the Black normal jersey. Jules got me the white super bowl jersey. I text soccermom and told her about my awesome gift. She and her husband Mr. Soccermom packed up Tuesday and went to the store to return the jersey and buy me something else. I would have gladly taken both! Just my luck. But she got me a cool purse and some lotion and a necklace set. Preggers got us tickets to see Shinedown May 20 in Harrisburg! I'm stoked! She's just hoping baby doesn't plan to come during hte concert as her due date is a week or so later. I say it'll make for a good story. Hey maybe the news would reach the band and they would make a pit stop at the hospital to see the kid who had to come out for the concert! Well I have work to do I'll blog more later this week.

Oh bloggy friends how I've missed you. I caught up on all the stuff i missed last week, you people have been BUSY! I left comments but they are on old posts.I hope everyone sees them. :)

I heart Fed Ex

So here we go. My post for today. I recently (today) received my new purse in the mail via Fed Ex, via the Steelers store on steeler.com. Yes my friends it's a Steelers purse. And I heart it. I heart it for so many reasons.
  1. I've yet to see anyone sporting it in my area.
  2. It's Steeler related, whats not to love.
  3. It's the closest thing to a jersey that I have.
  4. It's # 43!!!

I also purchased one for my friend for her birthday but hers is Mr. Ward # 86 along with a terrible towel. See she's a Pittsburgh transplant in Buffalo. We need to stick together. So needless to say it was like Christmas when i got the mail today. So exciting. I can't wait to start using it. So here's the question. Do I start using the purse now or do I hold off until next season so it's not gross and dirty by then. My god the decisions.

P.S. I had the worst McDonald's experience today EVER! I bought a shamrock shake and wow. They didn't even try to mix it up. I stirred it around but not enough. Which i learned the wrong/ hard way. I stuck my straw in and took a huge slurp. AHHHHHHH it was pure mint extract or whatever mint shit they put in the shake to give it it's great shamrockiness. thought I was going to gag. I ripped the lid of and spit pure dark green liquid back into the shake. gross. I needed to stir it up really good. yuck-a-roo!

(fill in holy icon) Loves the Steelers

I'm sick. If you read yesterdays blog you know this. This will be old news to you. I'm sick. I ran to the store to buy cake mix today because yes on top of being sick, packing for my pending trip on Wednesday, working and trying to get myself ready to leave town for Buffalo, I also have to bake a cake for work. Why? Because I volunteered. Because I love to bake and offered to bake the birthday party cake this month. Manly because it's for the Tabster and I know that while she'll appreciate she is also the only person in the office a side from Moma Bear who would secretly be thinking, I might have snuck poison in it. so I bake. FANTASTIC. of all the weeks in the winter to get a cold I picked this one. Stellar. So I was grabbing things at the store today like those people on supermarket sweepstakes. Remember that show. I looked like those chicks. Throwing boxes of detergent and frozen steaks in my cart, minus the detergent and frozen steaks....oh yeah and minus the cart. See I went for 3 things. Cake mix, veg. oil, and OJ. The juice not the criminal. Then i decided i wanted some "breakfast" so i grabbed a pint of Turkey hill Ice Cream. don't judge me. I'm SICK! Then as I walked towards the register doing my best balancing act I spotted a box of tissues. AHH I need those, runny nose, must have. And my friends. These are what I found.
Now you tell me God isn't cheering for the Steelers this Sunday!

EXTRA EXTRA!! Steelers beat Ravens 3x's this season!

Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl
HERE WE GO!

So needless to say I was a little excited about the big win last night. I heart the Steelers. I'm also proud to say I'm not one of those over the top in your face fans, that says the rest of the world sucks and that the Steeler nation is the best in the WORLD. I don't do that. But today I'm going to gloat. I'm going to tell my exciting game stories. Talk about the plays and pretty much be that person. For today.

First off I worked yesterday. As I do EVERY Sunday, which for a football fan should really be illegal. I have to say I wont miss watching the play by play graph movement on NFL.com. It's so sad trying to watch the game that way. But that my friends, is how I've kept track of every Steelers game this season, aside from the couple that played later Sunday or Monday. So last night I left work with about 7 minutes to go in the 2 quarter. I listen to the game the whole way to Julies house in Dallastown. Thank you 93.5 fm for being there when i needed you this season. I was able to watch the 2nd half with my friends. Preggers, Mr. Preggers, Jules and her boyfriend Steelers FANatic! Let's just say Steelers FANatic is a bit over the top with his devotion. I'm talking screaming cussing, thorwing things falling on the floor, over the top. He is one of "those people".

Here is where the excitement comes into play for me. I Love me some #43. Come on who can't love that guy, the hair, the crazy football skills, the insane love and devotion he shows on the field, and from what I hear he's a good guy of the field. I'll say it I have bit of a school girl crush on him. Oh Troy, I can even over look the fact that you went USC. You're so awesome. Get back on track Amy! Snap out of it! Anywho. Needless to say Troy did not disappoint last night. Here's what happen when he scored the let's be honest everyone WINNING TOUCHDOWN last night.

I'm sitting on the couch next to Preggers and Jules sister. Steelers FANatic is sitting across the room on the other couch. Flaco makes the throw. Troy intercepts the ball I sit up straight and yell "Yeah, I Love that guy!" then I notice Troy isn't stopping, no one has tackled him. I start to move up to the edge of the couch. "GO GO GO" I'm screaming at the TV. He's down to the 15 the 10, oh my god He's going to go all the way inside the 5, squeezes his way into the end zone, TOUCHDOWN!!!! And we lost it. I jump up off the couch throw the pillow I'm holding up into the air and scream "YEEEAAAHYYEAAAH!!! Steeler FANatic has also jumped off the couch he's flipping out we catch eyes run across the room and high five each other, while still screaming, And then we hug! I'm not a hugger. I don't really even like hugging my friends and family. I need personnel space, but at the moment I'm a hugger. We hug while still screaming, everyone else in the room just looks at us. And we yell!!! Then Steelers FANatic turns to Mr. Preggers, who's a Denver fan WOW theres still Denver fans out there, points at him and says "did you see that! And he's injured! NOW WHAT!!". then they show the replay over and over and over. With each replay I get excited all over. With each replay I i found something else to say about him "I love that guy" "that's why he's my favorite" He's so awesome" Here's the conversation I had with Preggers after I sat back down.

Preggers~ "Geeze Amy"

Jules~ That's Amy's guy.

Me~ I Love that guy, ahhhh he's so awesome. He's just so great. What can i say I have a bit of a school girl crush on him

REPLAY

Me~ Ahhhh he's cool

Preggers~ Get a hold of yourself, hey.....are you going to cry?

Me~ I sort of already am. He's just so cool. that was awesome!

So how excited am I to fly into Baltimore on Super Bowl Sunday dressed in my Steelers gear. that should be fun. I can;t believe I planned my trip home from Buffalo on Super Bowl Sunday. I'll get into Baltimore at 7 p.m. I'm not sure what I'll do while in the air, can i get a radio station that will broadcast the game on my Mp3 player? I plan to listen to 93.5 the whole way home. Who knows maybe I'll find a bar somewhere and watch the game. Or maybe not, I'm not sure how bitter Baltimore will be, I'm guessing REALLY BITTER!

So only 3 more posts till my 100th post!!!!! What an exciting week for me. Friday night lights is back, the steelers are going to the super bowl, and my 100th post!!! That's exciting.

Not me monday

I did not willingly spend 4 hours watching the History Channel with my Dad on Friday. I did learn that I wouldn't want to live in Ocean View Estates on Kona due to the fact it's right in the way if the volcanoes blows and there is only 1 road out of there. That sounds fun.

I didn't learn more about copper then the average person will EVER need to know. I also didn't watch a 2 hour special on Comets. In those two hours I did not contemplate changing the channel. My Dad did not ask me questions about all 3 different shows and i did not get the answers ALL right. It was not fun at all.

I did not try something new when i went to dinner with my mom on Friday night. I did not steer away from my usual chicken fingers to get a Cuban sandwich that wasn't tasty. I do not now heart eh Lyndian Dinner.

I did not make a joke in front of my 17 year old cousin and his girlfriend that my crest white strips look like someone shot a load all over my lips. His girlfriend DID NOT look slightly uncomfortable.

I did not play Scrabble with my two 7 year old cousins. That was not the WORST idea EVER. They totally understood the concept of the game and they didn't constantly move the letters around getting them out of place. I did not want to throw the scrabble board across the room and send them to bed. I did not.

I surely didn't spend all Saturday listening to my neighbors yell. They weren't really getting on my nervous and i did not contemplate turning the most annoying music i could find up real loud.

I wasn't sucked into watch Dances with Wolves because I couldn't get anything else in on my tv.

I did not get furious while watching a show about bears getting into resort towns in the mountains. I did not sit there and yell at the tv every time a PERSON complained about these bears in the WILD!! I did not tell those yuppie IT people to go build their resorts in the city thus avoiding the bears. I did not tell them to use common sense. The topic of animal encroachment doesn't bother me one bit. Neither does the topic of HUMAN ENCROACHMENT on the animals. (don't build your house in the mountains and then complain about the bears. It's like building next to the Mississippi River and complaining about the water...oh wait YOU DO THAT TOO!)

I did not go to Friendlys after swearing never to set foot in a friendly's again. It was not the strangest place EVER and Preggers and i are not convinced that Friendly's employees all the crazy people in town.

I did not go to Target more then 1 time this weekend. And i most certainly did not buy any baby stuff.

I'm not cheering on the Steelers to cream the Charges. And i most certainly don't think it would be kick ass if the Eagles and the Steelers both pull off a win next week to make it an all PA super Bowl. that wouldn't kick butt in the least.

I am not 9 posts away from my 100th post!

GO STEELERS!!!

Ahh Sunday. the day devoted to worship and praise. A day spent relaxing and reflecting on life and pondering the greater meaning. Sunday. Game day. Today the Steelers take on San Diego in Pittsburgh and it looked cold from the news earlier. It's always cold in Pittsburgh. and it's always cold in Heinz field. FOSHO. When the Steelers win today they'll play Baltimore next week in Heinz field for a chance at the Super bowl. Here we go steelers, here we go. Pittsburgh going to the Super Bowl. So I'll leave you with the reasons I like the Steelers. WHO doesn't remember the Buses last trip to the SB!! GET ON THE BUS!

Troy is a football GOD!!!! I believe in things TROY

This things was just cute.

No me Monday

I did not take two days off work just to allow for extra baking time. During the time I did not take off, I did not bake roughly a ton of cookies. I did not bake for 2 days with the end result 9 big yummy looking gift bags of tins of cookies. If i had done this i would not have hand delivered all but one gift bag by today. And I'm sure the lone gift bag still at my house wouldn't belong to my friend who isn't going in for surgery this week to remove his gallbladder. If it was I'm sure I wouldn't contemplate eating or re gifting it to someone else.

I didn't unwrap too many peanut butter cups for my peanut butter cookies and i wasn't forced to eat all the unused ones........not all 50.

I didn't drive to Mt. Joy to give Pam her cookies at 10 o'clock at night and it surely wasn't because I couldn't stand to wait a second longer. I also did not purchase two baby items for her after she told me no gifts for the fetus yet. I did not spend all night referring to her love child as 'the fetus" and i surely would have stopped when she asked me to. I didn't leave cookies for James and i surely did not give him my most coveted Christmas card. If i had I'm sure he would not have found it funny and would definitely not have laughed at my inscription. I'm also most positive it would not have earned me a hug :)

I did not go to lunch with my favorite cousin for the first time in MONTHS on Friday and we did not spend a large portion of the time shopping for baby stuff that I wasn't buying.

I did not sleep in on Saturday. I did not get up and deliver more cookies to my brother, grandmother, and cousin. I did not go Christmas shopping with my brother and i surprisingly would not have had a good time i had gone. I did not suggest my brother go to a jewelery store at the mall which did not happen to be going out of business, and was not having a huge sale. He would not have found a nice bracelet and he surely wouldn't have bought it. I was thrilled to not go see my twin 10 month old cousins and glad i wasn't forced to play with their pudgy faces. I did not get sucked into spending all Saturday night with my cousin and her kids. We did not go out to eat and drop $100 for dinner. I would not have drank a huge Blue Moon and ate way to much food. And I surely would not have been sucked into watching a lame SCi Fi Movie with her and i surely wasn't disappointed at the end.

I was not excited to not have to work Sunday. I didn't deliver my last batch of cookies to my friend who was home and i wasn't forced to hangout with her boyfriend and watch football. I did not cheer on the STEELERS on Sunday. I was not remotely interested in the game, and i surely didn't yell at all. I also didn't fall asleep in the 3rd quarter because it was so exciting. I didn't wake up in time to meet my co-workers to decorate for the office decorating contest. Which we did not take 1st Place in. We didn't have the best stuff, like always and I'm not proud in the slightest. I did not see the looks of envy on the other departments faces and we shouldn't go down in company history for being the freaking best.

We are not doing our department secret Santa's tomorrow and I'm not super excited about that. I did not spend hours icing sugar cookies (refer to yesterdays post) to bring in for this event and I'm not happy with the results at all.

so that's my no me Monday.

Insanely awesome randomness that is ME

So Sam over at http://samiamland.blogspot.com/ tagged me today in her 50th post!!!! Hooray for her! You're good Sam, I was in desperate need of something to post today. Thank you so much for spurring my post. Which Is #60 for me!!!
The rules:
1. Link to the person where you received it
2. Share 7 random/weird facts about yourself
3. Tag 7 Random people at the end of your post and include links
4. Let 'em know they were tagged.
So 7 random facts about me?? I wow, where to start. Is 7 enough? hum? I'm a pretty random person.
1. I have trouble sleeping at someone else house. This is not something that bothered me when I was younger, we always had sleepovers at friends but sometime after college it got really bad. I also have trouble sleeping when there's someone else in the bed, led to some very long nights of being awake when I had a boyfriend. (not in that way guys)
2. I can fit my fist in my mouth. Stupid person trick. Don't ask how I found that out, I'm pretty sure it had something to do with a sleepover and some not so pg-13 talking.
3. My first name should have been Amylee but the hospital messed up (I think it was an act of God) and put Lee as my middle name.
4. I hate the snow. It might have something to do with the horrific sledding accident I had when I as in 6th grade. It involved ice, me and some serious damage to one side of my face. Lucky for me no major marks. Words you never want to hear, "Look at all that blood" in reference to you.
5. I pick my nose. and I'm not sorry about it.
6. I use all the hot water EVERY morning. Yes I understand I could save gallons of water if I shortened my shower time, but I could also save gallons of water, tons of food and space, if I shortened your life expectancy. which sounds like the more green option. you have your morning coffee I have my morning shower. Bug off.
7. I went through a phase (roughly 7 years) when I wouldn't drink anything I couldn't see through. don't ask. No clue.
Those are only a few of the totally random things about me. Maybe you'll get more when I hit the magic 100! which I'm sure will be around March. So it's tough to tag people because I still don't have many bloggy friends, and the ones I do have were tagged by the great and wonderful Steelers Fan SAM! how about our boy Troy Sunday night, yeah interception. Wow totally off track, stay focused Amy.
I'll tag Kitty because she is my real life bestest friend. and she just loves when i do this stuff. You should check out her No me Monday post from yesterday.
Darcie over at Mom on the Edge because our girl could use a little love and encouragement right now. Plus I have to show love to the girl who introduced me to my first frat party!
La Pixie gets tagged because her blogs crack me up. http://chroll.blogspot.com/
So there you go. 3 people. I'm not one for conformity, I'm a rule breaker, a rebel, I'm blazing this trail by posting 3 instead of 7. So if you read this, leave me some love and feel free to post the tag yourself. If you do let me know so I can read about your random awesomeness!

Back to grind

How about those steelers!

One big holiday down and one bigger holiday to go. Oh boy. I think I'll put my tree up tonight if I have time after work, and by time I mean if I'm feeling put to it. If I'm not to lazy or still to exhausted from my long weekend away. I spent the weekend in Crisfield, Md., at my aunts house. Think of the most run down remote town you can and then think 10 times worse, that's crisfield. Nothing to do but get dirty and roll around in mud. Or fish, but it's winter and a little chill for that now. So we did the next best thing, went hunting. What a time that was. My cousin was going out for the first time with her husband, I've hunted since I was 12 so I'm not new to this. However it has been a few years since the last time i went out so we were quite the comical sight. It was my cousin her husband, her youngest son, her dad, me and our friend Bailey (for those of you who read my post about the guy and our "ship", that's him). Boy were we a sight in our awesome hunting clothes her in a full body cameo suit and me in my orange pants and jacket. We were HOTT! Her husband made us get up at 4 a.m. Yes my friends 4 in the A.M. we had to be out in the woods by 5:15-5:30, why I don't know. The sun didn't come up until after 7 a.m. But he's a skilled hunter so whatever. We all split up once we got out into the woods. Bailey walked me to my tree stand and helped me get up in it, what a swell guy. then he left me there alone and went down to his tree stand. My tree stand was about the size of a phone booth, which happens to be the name we use to reference it. The phone booth stand. So Inside is a chair. An office style chair so you can spin around from side to side to look out the 4 windows. Well I got bored and just spun around on the chair a bunch, wonder why i didn't see any deer? Bailey said he could see me moving around and was wondering what I was doing. Just passing some time pal. WE were out there 5-6 hours before we all traipsed back into my aunts house for a nice warm breakfast. then we spent the day working in their chicken houses. They raise chickens for Tyson. Nothing like working in chicken shit and saw dust all day to make the time fly by. It wasn't to bad. We had a surprisingly good time.

I rode down Friday with Bailey(it's a 4 hour drive), all by myself like a big girl, and I wasn't sure how that would go. See we have a bit of a history, a long sorted history, but thankfully the trip was fine. We talked, we laughed, we sang, we had a good time. I'm pretty sure he didn't absolutely hate it. I have to say the ride down and the ride home, were much better then I ever could have thought. He's not always a jerk. He's not always a saint either. All in all I would say the weekend scored some good marks. I did get turn down by him Saturday night which was upsetting, but what can you do. I bounced back, I'm still a little bummed about that but mostly I bummed about my relationship status en general. It wasn't bad. We had fun. And I didn't absolutely hate him when it was over. We shall call this progress.

What I'm really thankful for

Enjoy this wonderful Turkey Art I stumbled upon while surfing the adult sites, I mean while working. I thought it was funny. I added the color via MS Paint. Oh the secret talents I have. You would be so surprised and thoroughly impressed with my capabilities. So today is Turkey day. Oh boy. The day we give thanks for all the things that have happen this year, and all the things everyone tells us we should be thankful for. So who decides what is a good thing to be thankful for and what is something you don't mention. For example. I'm thankful for condoms, no babies here yet. I'm thankful for cold draft beer, good rum and thick steaks. I'm thankful for the Steelers, good looking guys, and good sex. I'm thankful for hot dogs, my dog max, corn dogs, the fair, and sheetz mto's. I'm thankful for not being hung over this thanksgiving, friends with benefits (otherwise I wouldn't ever get any benefit's) and ice cream. My mom said those aren't the things I should be thankful for. I should be thankful for my health, minus that bout of pink eye, the sinus infection, really bad sprained ankle, migraines, chronic colds over the summer and two week long aunt Flo visits. Yeah my health, that's working real well for me. I should be thankful for my job, which I hate and doesn't even come close to paying my bills, with hours that make it almost impossible to get a part time job and which told us NO ONE is getting a raise this year. Yeah I'm real thankful for this place. I should be thankful for my family. I am, for the most part. When they aren't driving me up the wall. But really how many times can you hear I'm thankful for my health, my family and that we are all here to enjoy this dinner before you want to take your desert fork and plunge it into your eye. Really. Come on people. Be different. My list is different. Maybe it's not PG 13, maybe Nana did choke on her turkey at the mention of condoms, porn and sex, but maybe Nana shouldn't have been such a hog and waited until everyone finished our little lists before chomping into her plate of thanksgiving yummy goodness. The nerve of some people. Telling me what I SHOULD be thankful for.
My mom asked my nephew, "Kanyon, do you know what Thanksgiving is for" and he responded with an answer that earned him a high five over the stuffing bowl, "Yeah Nanny it's for STUFFING OUR FACES!" I love that kid. Seems maybe he should have gotten a talking to for an answer like that nanny! Of course then my mom proceeded to tell him about the harvest and eating with the Indians which caused him to say "Oh yeah pilgrims I've heard this before nanny!" and he earned another high five for SHUTTING NANNY DOWN! He told my mom they had a play at school and he was a pilgrim, he said he didn't want to be an Indian because the pilgrims had cooler hats to wear. (high five) and I quickly added "yeah you didn't want to get small pox, forced off your land and then killed either huh" (no high five for me). He totally left me hanging.
To be honest I'm thankful for my families health, no trips to the hospital this year, always a plus. I'm thankful for my job even if it keeps me just high enough to not be considered poor. but I'm still broke and have a ton of bills I can't pay, and I really do loath this job. I'm thankful for my friends, what a weird crazy, mixed up bunch of tools. But I love them all. I'm thankful my car is fixed and I'm thankful for my up coming days off. But I'm still thankful for all the things listed above and i see those as perfectly acceptable things to be thankful for. So up yours mom!
